Programming
Programming Volunteers assist in the delivery of educational programming by supporting the work of the Beyond Classrooms Coordinator, the classroom teacher and host site staff, during program weeks. Generally, this would involve serving as an adult mentor, working with a small group of students as they explore the host site, and participating in scheduled activities such as journaling and sketching. In special cases, Programming Volunteers may also be engaged short-term projects related to the development of thematic and/or curriculum-linked programming. All Programming Volunteers are required to provide current CPIC documentation.
Marketing and Promotions
Marketing and Promotion volunteers assist with the implementation of Beyond Classrooms media and communications strategy by taking photographs and video footage and writing social media posts and media releases in support of program week activity. In special cases, Marketing and Promotion volunteers may also be engaged in short-term projects related to the development of promotional tools. Marketing and Promotion Volunteers are required to provide current CPIC documentation.
Office Assistant
Office Assistant volunteers assist with the day-to-day operation and administrative functions of Beyond Classrooms Kingston. Such duties may include filing and photocopying, handling correspondence, responding to public enquiries, and database development/support.
Committee Members
Committee volunteers support the work of Beyond Classrooms operational committees such as Communications, Fundraising and Programming, in achieving work plan goals assigned to them by the Board of Directors.
